The second annual Hispanic Literacy Festival & Community Baby Shower was a vibrant celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month and National Literacy Month! Organized by Latinos Educando Juntos at Southwark School in South Philadelphia, the event was packed with joy and culture—children’s authors captivated audiences with their stories, lively music inspired singing and dancing, delicious pupusas satisfied cravings, and families eagerly took home free children’s books!
Read by 4th was honored to support this incredible event through the Philly Book Wish Grant, which funded diverse and Spanish-language books. Sharing stories in one’s native language is a meaningful way to nurture a child’s love of reading, honor cultural heritage, and enhance literacy skills.
We’re delighted to contribute to bringing more stories into homes, fostering a lifelong love of reading and making it a cherished part of everyday life!
